We have a very popular and social club tennis scene at Castle Hedingham.
Club night runs every Friday evening throughout the season as soon as the evenings become light enough and until they start to draw in (usually April-September). Club nights are for Adult members of all abilities and some Junior members by invitation only (dedicated Junior club sessions run on Sunday afternoons 12-2pm – see below).
Club night starts at around 6:30pm and continues until the light fades. Members are encouraged to mingle as much as possible so that players have the opportunity to play with and against opponents of varying abilities and to meet new people.
Why not join us at one or two club nights before deciding whether to become a member?
Every Sunday morning throughout the year is for club tennis. This session runs from 10-12am and is a family friendly morning where members of all ages come together to play at the courts.
Junior Club Session
Following on from the Club Morning, many of our junior players stay on for Junior Club which runs 12-2pm every Sunday, gaining valuable match experience and having fun at the same time!
During the season the club holds regular, friendly tournaments for adult members where the focus is on fun and socialising. These are always well attended, popular events with varying formats.
In addition, every year we hold five competitive club tournaments:
– Mens Singles
– Ladies Singles
– Mens Doubles
– Ladies Doubles
– Mixed Doubles
The top players from each tournament then battle it out on club finals day, with everyone else cheering them on from the sidelines (and taking advantage of the free BBQ!). The winners are presented with their magnificent trophies later in the year at the club Christmas dinner and have the honour of seeing their names engraved on the winners board in the club house.
